Ron Berryman

Ron Berryman recently led the spinout of News Corporation's Digital Publishing Group and formed a new venture Canvas Technology, Inc., where he serves as CEO. Canvas Technology's lead investors are Vantage Point Venture Partners and Advanced Technology Partners, along with News Corporation. Prior to the creation of Canvas Technology Ron served as Senior Vice President, GM of Digital Publishing for News Corp Digital Media where he built the division over the past five years. Ron's most recent role was to develop a new division for New Corporation and his responsibility was to manage innovation and technology development for content, digital asset management publishing and asset monetization. In Ron's previous a role as SVP, GM Fox Television Stations, he was responsible for guiding the online strategic direction of FOX's 24 owned and operated television stations, as well as the network's 200+ affiliates. Ron was responsible for launching the first VOD for FOX Network, leveraging technology and distribution methods to stream HD Network Content.

Ron previously founded and served as CEO of Sidereus Technologies, a company specializing in delivering rich-media desktop software and rich-media-enabled web technologies. Sidereus was acquired by Fox Interactive Media in August 2005 and rebranded as FIM Labs.

Before founding Siderus Technologies - and also online ad agency Sidereus Group - Ron served as VP of Marketing and Product Management at ZapMedia, a convergence technology company based in Atlanta. Ron was a key stakeholder in the development of ZapMedia's Hardware Reference Platform, Software Reference Platform and Portal UI development.

Prior to ZapMedia, Berryman worked for The Coca-Cola Company, serving as a team leader for brand measurement and analysis, and helped institute a formal CCUSA 2002 brand planning process. Working with the Sprite, Diet Coke, Powerade and Barq's brand teams, Ron created brand measurement tools to effectively measure marketing initiatives.

Previously, Ron spent 10 years as the principal owner and operator of Berryman Communications, a Marketing Communications Company in Chicago, IL. Clients included Leaf Candy Company, Dannon, Inc., Nickelodeon, Kellogg's, General Motors and The Cartoon Network. Additional management experience includes time spent at Rubbermaid, Inc., Wilderness Foods, Noble Tennant, Chicago and Dawson, Johns & Black in Chicago.

Ron serves on several industry association committees, including the Internet Streaming Media Alliance and the Consumer Electronics Association. Most recently, Ron was named to the Streaming Media All-Stars. He has won several regional and national ADDY Awards and two REGGIE Gold Awards. Most recently, Ron serves as keynote speaker for several industry associations, including, World Television Summit, Digital Hollywood, Streaming Media, Digital Media Wire, and the National Association of Broadcasters' (NAB) Futures Summit.
